Leah: Leah
is one of the happiest people we have met and is constantly
laughing but she had never been excited about her smile. Leah
had searched for the “right” cosmetic dentist
for her and after Dr. Canto spent the time to really connect
with her, Leah new she had found the “right” artist
to create the smile of her dreams. Leah had what is known
as “pegged” lateral incisors, which means that
the teeth next to the central teeth are simply undersized
and improperly shaped. This gives the smile a somewhat “fanged”
appearance which obviously is not desirable. Dr. Canto also
noted that Leah’s teeth had a lingual inclination or
simply stated they slanted inward creating a deficient look
when she smiled. Upon evaluation on a full smile Dr. Canto
also noted that there was a need for some gum laser plastic
surgery as Leah also had a “gummy smile” that
kept her present smile unbalanced as too much gum tissue showed
when she smiled. Last but not least, the yellow color of her
teeth needed to be corrected to give the final dazzling touch
to her new smile. After Leah completed our periodontal preparation
program to insure healthy foundations, Dr. Canto performed
the Laser assisted gum plastic surgery to reshape and remove
excess gum tissue. She then prepared 8 of the upper teeth
for porcelain veneers and the 2 lateral incisors for full
porcelain crowns to be custom made by our Master Ceramist.
After completing Leah’s custom made temporaries Dr.
Canto bleached the lower teeth using our Diode Laser assisted
Whitening system Lasersmile for a great blending lower arch.
She also did some minor cosmetic contouring on the lower teeth
to conservatively give a better appearance keeping in mind
always, a strong, functional bite. With Leah’s fabulous
new smile, we would definitely say that she is a true “raving
fan”. She not only shines from the inside but the gorgeous
new smile Dr. Canto created for her has given Leah the confidence
to dazzle from the outside too. See
Leah’s thoughts in a letter shared in our testimonial
section.
