Dr. Amanda Canto leads the dedicated team at Cosmetic Dentists Houston, where the mission is to transform smiles and elevate lives. Passionately fostering healthy, beautiful smiles since 1989, Dr. Canto has cultivated a unique culture within her practice that offers an exceptional dental experience—one that patients often describe as truly unlike any they’ve encountered before.
With a lifetime commitment to understanding human connection, fostering communication, and wholeheartedly embracing the love of people, Dr. Canto’s practice excels in helping patients identify, understand, and achieve their aesthetic and wellness goals. Dr. Canto earned her undergraduate degree from Southwestern University and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from The University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston. Early in her career, she distinguished herself through a private fellowship in cosmetic dentistry. She remains committed to lifelong learning, having completed studies in Sleep Medicine at the University of the Pacific, advanced studies in Digital Smile Design, and engaging in never-ending continuing education to stay at the cutting edge of her field.
A recognized leader in dental innovation, Dr. Canto integrates the newest digital technologies into her practice, including 3D radiology, AI, 3D scanning and printing, and Digital Smile Design. These tools ensure that patients understand their current dental health status, envision where they want to go, and receive expert guidance on their journey to achieving a smile they love. Her commitment to excellence is reflected in her numerous affiliations with professional organizations, including the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the American Academy of Clear Aligners, among many others. Over her esteemed career, Dr. Canto has been honored with awards acknowledging her as a guide for patients, like the Best Cosmetic Dentist in America, Best in Texas, and various service accolades.
Beyond her practice, Dr. Canto’s passion for giving back shines through initiatives like the ‘Give Back a Smile’ program, Freedom Day USA for veterans, Dress for Success, international mission trips, and her own ‘Gift of a Smile’ program. She is fervently dedicated to impacting lives positively through diverse service endeavors.
An artist at heart, Dr. Canto sees dentistry as both an aesthetic pursuit and a scientific discipline. Her practice reflects this by focusing on creating bespoke, comprehensive plans that enhance appearance and promote overall wellness within a compassionate and empathetic environment.

She has been honored to help impact her profession by contributing ideas and evaluation for development of new materials and techniques in dentistry by serving on several boards, including the Council for Innovative Dentistry for 3M and the Catapult group.
She sustains her dedication to learning with countless hours of continuing education through her participation in SPEAR Study Clubs, CEREC Education and Fortune Management.
Dr. Canto also continues her growth by surrounding herself with doctors from around the globe by being part of the prestigious group The Fortune Practice Platinum Circle, a think tank “committed to progressive, socially responsible ideals for the betterment of evolving professionals, as well as humanity.”
Giving Back to the Houston Community
From fostering rescue animals from the ASPCA to changing the lives of at-risk youth, Dr. Canto has always felt it important to give back to her community.
She has participated in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry’s “Give Back a Smile” program, which provides cosmetic dental care at no cost to survivors of domestic violence.
She has also provided more than $30,000 in services, to at-risk youth through her own “Gift of a Smile” program coordinated with Houston’s own Window of Opportunity Foundation.
Dr. Canto also serves on the national board of and participates in Freedom Day USA. This is an organization that gives thanks to our military, veterans, active duty and their immediate family by providing a DAY OF FREE for those who have kept us free.

Dr. Canto considers herself more than just a cosmetic dentist – she likes to think of herself as an artist and an architect.
