Invisalign Clear Braces
Invisalign clear braces are a perfect solution for adults who want straight, beautiful teeth – without the embarrassment and inconvenience of traditional metal braces.
Invisalign for Teeth Straightening
If you’re one of the many people born with teeth that aren’t naturally straight, you know how much crooked teeth and a misaligned bite can impact your life in terms of both your health and social life.
It used to mean that you would need a mouth full of metal brackets and wires to correct your teeth, which helped with your oral health but didn’t do much for your social life. Luckily, today there’s Invisalign – a clear braces solution for those of us who want a straight smile but weren’t lucky enough to be born with one.
Dr. Amanda Canto is a certified preferred Invisalign Provider. She believes that it is a great, non-invasive option for her patients who want straighter teeth.
In this video, Houston Cosmetic Dentist Dr. Amanda Canto talks about why Invisalign is a great option to straighten crooked teeth.
Invisible braces are:
- Removable – Eating and drinking are just as easy as ever.
- Easy Care – Just remove them to brush and floss as normal.
- Nearly Invisible – You can feel confident wearing the clear aligners.
- Comfortable – The aligners are custom-made and flexible, fitting easily into your mouth.
- Convenient – Simply switch aligners – no need for painful adjustments.
- Fast – The average Invisalign treatment lasts about one year.
While many teeth straightening options are available, few offer the level of comfort, convenience and confidence that you’ll find with Invisalign.
How Does Invisalign Work?
When you think of Invisalign, you might not really think of them as braces. True, they fall more in line with what we picture retainers to be. However, Invisalign is a clear braces system that can give you straighter teeth without all the embarrassment of those metal brackets and wires.
These clear braces are an amazing solution for people with crooked or crowded teeth. For more information about this clear braces system, watch this video from Dr. Canto and her team at Cosmetic Dentists Houston.
Invisalign treatment depends on the individual and the severity of the case. On average, the treatment usually takes about 12 months. If it is a minor case, the treatment can be as little as six to nine months, and if it is a more severe case clear braces can take up to 24 months for you to get that amazing smile.
At Cosmetic Dentists Houston, if your case is too severe and it would be best to be referred to a specialist. Finding you the best treatment for your smile is our main goal. Like any orthodontic treatment, it is imperative to stay committed to wearing your retainers, and following up with your appointments to receive your adjusted clear braces. Cosmetic Dentists Houston will determine the best treatment for you and your pocket!

Invisalign and Your Insurance
Is Invisalign covered by your dental insurance? The answer to that isn’t very easy. It all depends on your particular insurance company and what your plan covers. If you have a higher level insurance plan than most people, Invisalign could be covered either totally or partially. In most cases, dental insurance won’t cover clear braces systems like Invisalign completely, but in particular cases, the system is included under all orthodontics.
Invisalign FAQ
While traditional braces can be uncomfortable, even painful at times, and make eating and cleaning a hassle, Invisalign is a system of removable aligners. Since you can take them out to eat and brush, they can be much healthier than braces. Every few weeks, you’ll come in to our Galleria-area dental office and receive a new set of aligners. Each set of aligners is customized for your teeth. As you progress through the system, the series of aligners gradually shifts your teeth into their proper positioning.
By the end of the treatment, you’ll have a straight smile that you’ll be proud to show off! After the treatment, you’ll be given a new set of clear aligners to wear as retainers.
Invisalign takes a modern approach to straightening teeth using a custom-made series of aligners custom-created for you. These aligner trays are made of a smooth, comfortable and invisible plastic that is worn over your teeth. Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place based on the exact movements that Dr. Canto will plan out for you.
Invisalign treatment is usually covered by both orthodontic insurance and FSA plans, and is generally comparable with the cost of traditional metal braces. Cosmetic Dentists of Houston also offers flexible and affordable payment plans. Read more! Find out more about the cost of Invisalign.
At Cosmetic Dentists of Houston, our Invisalign process is quick and convenient. You place a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks until your treatment is complete. As with all dentistry procedures the total length of treatment time is individual to you. but the average Invisalign treatment takes less than 12 months.
Your aligners may be removed for special occasions, meals and cleaning your teeth. For best results we recommend you wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day.
It’s close! These clear aligners are very discreet. As long as you keep them clean, they’re practically unnoticeable. The trays can stain, so it’s important to try to avoid coffee and colored liquids that might leave marks on the trays. It’s also very important that you keep them clean. While you’re brushing your teeth, you can brush the aligners and rinse them off. However, you shouldn’t use toothpaste on them. Toothpaste can leave the aligners looking cloudy.
If you take proper care of your aligners, they’ll remain clear and nearly invisible. No one will be the wiser, and you can go through your treatment without feeling self-conscious!
The aligner trays are very comfortable, especially when compared to the alternative of brackets and wires. Each set of aligners is fully customized for your mouth so that they fit over your teeth perfectly. When you first receive a set, you might feel some discomfort, but this is only temporary. You’ll get used to each set very quickly as you wear them.
An added bonus, as mentioned earlier, is that the aligners are removable. While brushing, flossing, eating, and even speaking can be difficult with traditional braces, Invisalign makes it as natural as it would be without braces, because you just pop the tray out and back in when you’re done. However, it’s important to note here that eating and cleaning are the only times you should remove the trays. They need to be in for about 23 hours each day!
