The Art of Dental Bonding
(Direct Bonding)
Cosmetic dentistry requires years of advanced clinical training, an artist’s eye for detail, and a passion for perfect results. Dr. Amanda Canto loves the art of dental bonding and takes great pride in hand-sculpting each and every tooth.
Dental bonding, (known in the industry as “Direct Bonding”) is one of the quickest and least expensive ways to improve the appearance of damaged teeth. Traditional veneers and crowns must be sent out to a ceramist and manufactured in a dental lab, so they usually take 2 – 3 dental visits. Cosmetic bonding, on the other hand, can usually be performed in a single visit by Dr. Canto in our office. It is also a very economical solution!
Dr. Canto always takes time to get to know each of her patients personally. She will discuss all your teeth bonding and veneer options with you, and then create a detailed cosmetic dentistry plan to craft your “perfect smile.”
Dental Bonding VS Porcelain Veneers
- The tooth bonding procedure can be done quickly, often in a single office visit
- Tooth bonding is done in-office so is less expensive than porcelain veneers
- Direct bonded composites are natural looking and created from tooth-colored silica-enforced resin
- A dental bond can be crafted to perfectly match the rest of your teeth
- Bonded teeth are slightly more susceptible to staining and chipping than porcelain
- Bonding composites usually last from 3-5 years, about ½ the lifespan of porcelain
Ways Dental Bonding Can Improve Your Smile:
- Smooth and shape all or one of your front teeth
- Brighten and whiten stained or discolored teeth
- Repair chipped, broken or decayed teeth
- Fill small gaps or excess space in teeth
- Straighten the look of crooked teeth
- Replace amalgam (silver) fillings in your teeth
- Lengthen teeth which are too short
